Principal's Message
Dear Sentinel Family,
To our students, families, and staff: welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at Inglewood High School ‘United’. There is a particular kind of energy that comes with a new beginning — quiet hallways ready to fill, fresh calendars, and the promise of everything a year can become — and I am honored to be starting this one alongside you.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Larry Boone, and I am proud to serve as your new principal. I come to IHSU with more than three decades of experience working in education — a journey that began in the classroom as an English teacher and grew, over the years, into the privilege of leading middle and high schools across our state. In that time, I have learned one lesson above all others: every great school is built on the strength of its relationships and the belief that all students can learn at high levels. When students know they are seen, believed in, and held to a high standard with real support behind it, remarkable things happen.
My commitment to you is simple. We will know and serve every student by name and by need. We will pair high expectations with the support that makes them reachable. And we will nurture a campus that is inclusive, rigorous, and genuinely joyful — a place where academic excellence and belonging are never in competition but grow together.
This year, you can expect me to be visible and present — in classrooms, at games and performances, in the parent center, and wherever Sentinels gather. Great schools are partnerships, and I am counting on ours: students bringing their effort and curiosity, teachers and staff bringing their craft and care, and families bringing the knowledge of their children that no one else can. Together, that partnership is a powerful thing.
So here is my invitation: let us make 2026–2027 a year we are proud of. Let us start strong, support one another, and keep our eyes fixed on what matters most — the success and well-being of every student who walks through our doors. My door is open, and I cannot wait to get to work with you.
Welcome back. Welcome home. Let us have a wonderful year.
Warmly,
Larry Boone
