Academic and Graduation Requirements
To graduate from high school, each student must complete a minimum of 230 credits.

Achieve specified units of credit as determined by the State and the I.U.S.D Board of Education and outlined below.

Secure passing grades in all assigned college preparatory courses and have satisfactory records of attendance and conduct.

II CLASSIFICATION OF STUDENTS
Students must earn a minimum number of credits each year to progress to the next grade level. Students who do not meet the following minimum requirements will be reclassified to a lower grade level.

IV High School Senior Portfolio
Beginning with the class of 2006 all students completing grade twelve must successfully complete a Senior Portfolio and 40 Community Service Hours.

Courses within the various departments meet or exceed the California State Standards as set forth in the Framework for California Public Schools. Each department has adopted ideas from the CA State Framework while retaining the best of traditional methods of teaching.

Within each department students may participate in specific school programs such as:

HONORS- Honors classes are offered in English, Math, Social Science, and Science. Students are selected on the basis of test scores, grades, and recommendations received from teachers and counselor. An honors class takes the students into more subject matter depth.

AP- Advanced Placement: A system by which college freshman may bypass entry-level courses by proving they have already taken the equivalent in high school. The college may award college credit if a student earns a certain grade on a specially designed College Board. Exam is at the conclusion of an AP course.

ELD- English Language Development: Instruction is provided to students that are identified as English Language Learners via the yearly ELPAC test results. Students are provided with access to intervention strategies designed to assist our ELL students with successfully reclassifying from being Limited English students to being Proficient in English.

El Camino College Courses: Students are provided the opportunity to take college level courses on campus for high school credit. Students that successfully receive a grade of a C or higher can apply the complete college level course toward successfully receiving an AA degree from El Camino College. These college level courses are offered both during the regular school day and after school to the students currently enrolled at Inglewood High School.
